Now that my classes are over I can concentrate on some fun things! Christmas cards! I wanted to share my love of Weezer with everyone this holiday season. I am grateful for my babysitter, Mallory, for taking the pictures. It was a bit rushed, but hey they are done! I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year!

{ib pyp in lipovsky world}
I started this blog earlier this year and time just flew by. I updated the blog with a catalogue of lessons from my IB 675/677 classes at Oakland University. The lessons also contain rubrics, handouts and projects at the end of each section. Please scroll down to see each lesson in its entirety. If you cannot find your way back to my lessons just click {ib pyp in lipovsky world}. Each lesson is linked under its subject. Below is a sample of one of my projects. Woohoo! Here's to being done!

{it's raining cats and dogs}
I had a former student come back to visit this week with a ton of enthusiasm for writing and figurative language. She was excited to share with me a writing assignment she completed in her middle school class. It is so amazing to see that kind of enthusiasm in a writer. In honor of sweet Hannah I thought I'd post my figurative language posters. This is my second set. The original set had only definitions and this set includes examples from famous poems.

{if you are good life is good}
Roald Dahl is one of my all time faVoriTe authors. I think he's just scrumdidliumptious! That's why I decided to name my blog after one of his most famous characters, Matilda.
After years of pondering and debating...using a blog as a class newsletter...I finally decided it was time for me to create my own blog. I'd like to use this as a way to share my creations and the creations made through collaboration. I am very fortunate to have a friend to collaborate with every week. We tweak, create, brainstorm, edit and revise weekly to better our teaching. My obsession with graphics and fonts also allows us to make our work a little more aesthetically pleasing.
I would like to dedicate this blog to my friend eLlEn. I am not sure what I would do without you. It's nice to get new ideas and feel revived every week with our new "creations."

Thanks mARk n. for coming up with this great idea for literature circles! It's amazing!
